Edible Amputated Hand (Halloween Dip)

Method
- Mix the cream cheese with the herbs and spices.
- Trace a hand and forearm on parchment. Lay the dinner rolls along the fingers and the mozzarella rolls along the arm, then fill the gaps with the herbed cream cheese and smooth it out.
- Cover everything with prosciutto, stick on red onion fingernails with a dab of cream cheese, wrap, and refrigerate for 4 hours to firm up.
- Turn it out onto a platter and slice in to show the dip inside.
What we changed and why
- Iodized table salt usually contains corn-derived dextrose. Sea salt does not.
- Panino rolls are wheat. Many gluten-free rolls contain cornstarch, so read the label.
- Pre-made rolls can contain starches, so check the label.
Items marked "check" need a quick label read: corn hides in starches, dextrose, and vinegar.
