Our version uses the cleanest organic ingredients, stays gluten-free, and avoids corn wherever we can. The original is shown exactly as the creator posted it.

small glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw organic milk (or organic low-temp pasteurized)
  • 1 cup raw organic cream (or organic low-temp pasteurized)
  • 3 pasture-raised organic egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup pure organic maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp organic vanilla extract (corn-free)
  • 1/2 tsp organic cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp organic nutmeg
  • Dash of organic clove
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: rum or brandy (skip bourbon, it is made from corn)

Method

  1. Blend everything for 1-2 minutes, until creamy, and serve cold.

What we changed and why

  • Many vanilla extracts use corn-based alcohol. Look for one made with cane alcohol, or use vanilla bean powder.
  • Iodized table salt usually contains corn-derived dextrose. Sea salt does not.
  • Bourbon is distilled mostly from corn.

Items marked "check" need a quick label read: corn hides in starches, dextrose, and vinegar.
