Ingredients

Chocolate chip cake version

  • 1/2 cup Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Organic Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 spotty organic banana
  • 1 pasture-raised organic egg
  • 1/4 cup organic whole milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Bob's Red Mill Baking Soda
  • Organic chocolate chips (corn-free, cane sugar)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp sweetener (raw organic honey, pure organic maple syrup, coconut sugar)

Brownie version

  • 1/3 cup Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Organic Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 spotty organic banana
  • 1 pasture-raised organic egg
  • 1/4 cup organic whole milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 heaping tbsp organic cocoa powder
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Bob's Red Mill Baking Soda
  • Organic chocolate chips (corn-free, cane sugar)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp sweetener

Method

  1. Blend everything except the chocolate chips. Pour into a greased oven-safe dish, scatter the chips on top, and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
  2. Finish the brownie version with flaky sea salt.

What we changed and why

  • Regular oats often pick up wheat in the field or mill. Bob's Red Mill tests its gluten-free oats.
  • Iodized table salt usually contains corn-derived dextrose. Sea salt does not.
  • Some chips use corn-derived dextrose or vanillin, so read the label.

Items marked "check" need a quick label read: corn hides in starches, dextrose, and vinegar.
